On Sunday, September 21 over 800 groups, including people of faith, environmental and civic organizations and union members will walk together in a historic march to call for a world with good green jobs, clean air and water for us all.

The People’s Climate March is timed to coincide with the United Nations Assembly when 16 world leaders, including President Obama, are meeting to discuss climate change and what the countries of the world must do. A drumbeat of authoritative scientific reports this year brought sobering news: we have only a few years to change course in order to avoid far worse. People in the Hudson River Valley are coming together to do our part and insist that the leaders of the world plan a world that is in our reach; a world with an economy that works for people and the planet; a world safe from the ravages of climate change; a world with good jobs, clean air and water, and healthy communities.

As part of the events leading up to the People’s Climate March world renowned energy expert Arnie Gundersen of Fair Winds Energy Education will be in NYC. Indian Point Safe Energy Coalition, Lower Hudson Group of Sierra Club, Rockland Sierra Club, Clearwater, Riverkeeper and other organizations have worked together to sponsor a panel featuring Mr. Gundersen in our area.

This is your invitation to join us at An Experts Panel: Moving Toward a Carbon Free, Nuclear Free Future, at Croton-on-Hudson Town Hall, 1 Van Wyck Street for a pre-March event.

Mr. Gundersen will be joined by Tim Judson of Nuclear Information and Resource Service, Manna Jo Greene, the Environmental Director at Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, and Gary Shaw of Indian Point Safe Energy Coalition. Panelists will make brief presentations followed by ample time for questions from the audience. Don’t miss this opportunity to find out about the transition to a green economy and the current status of wind, solar and nuclear.
