Sunday, December 6th 1:30 pm
Stony Point Center
17 Cricketown Road, Stony Point, NY 10980
This Sunday, December 6, 2015, Clearwater and others are cosponsoring an Activist Training at the Stony Point Center, which will help us all to organize more effectively and use our limited resources more efficiently to prevent further unnatural fracked gas and other fossil fuel infrastructure, close aging, leaking nuclear power plants and promote the transition to a truly Green Energy Economy. This training will also be valuable for many other local, regional, national and global issues as well, including Climate Change. Please join us and circulated widely to others on your lists.
1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Sharing Our Current Projects: Each group will be given equal time to briefly summarize its work (i.e., Sane Energy Project, SAPE, Pilgrim Pipeline and CPV opponents, IPSEC, NYC SDPIN, etc.). Moderated by Rick Ufford-Chase. Please bring healthy potluck snacks to share: a Stony Point Convergence tradition.
2:30 – 4:00 p.m. Building Our Future: Led by Kim Fraczek and Patrick Robbins, Codirectors of Sane Energy Project. Learn Effective Action Logic and How to Resolve Decision Dilemmas; Tips for Presenting and other valuable organizing tools.
4:15 – 5:30 p.m. Communicating with Elected Officials and Other Strategies for Effective Organizing: Presented by Manna Jo Greene, Hudson River Sloop Clearwater and Ulster County Legislator; Blair Goodman, long-time organizer, formerly of Community Voices Heard.
You are welcome to come to either morning or afternoon session, or both, and stay as long as you wish. There is no cost for this event, but please register. For further information, please contact Manna Jo Greene, Environmental Director, Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, Inc. at 845/265.8080 ext. 7113 or mannajo@clearwater.org
