Pumpkin Fest, Pete and Toshi Seeger Riverfront Park, Beacon, NY, Oct.16

Music, pumpkin pie, and activism are all hallmarks of the Pumpkin Fest, one of three annual events organized by the Beacon Sloop Club to mark the turn of the seasons.

As usual, the Indian Point Safe Energy Coalition had an outreach table along the main walkway leading into festival.  Special thanks to our BSC friends for all of the time effort and energy that goes into hosting an event or well over a thousand people.

Two of us were busy the whole day handing out Indian Point postcards and talking to people about the Governor’s nuclear tax.  Most had not  even heard about it.  Many people signed our petition and most also went on to sign a letter to Governor Cuomo, asking for renewable not subsidies to Exelon.
