The NYT prints so few letters  to the editor.  Letters to local papers are probably more effective.  Here is a template that everyone is invited to use. It uses the NYT opinion piece as a hook so it needs to go out right away.

People are welcome to use it as is, change it into their own words, or modify it in any way shape or form.  Please send it out to your members and ask them to post it locally. It can’t hurt and maybe could help.

Lately there has been a lot in the in the news about a nuclear  comeback. Many proponents, like the recent pro nuclear  piece in the NYT invariably leave out how long it takes to build a reactor and the cost per kilowatt hour. Frequently, the false claim that nuclear is carbon free is invoked.  What is true and what is disinformation can be hard to sort out.  Here are two great sources that are guaranteed to be accurate.

Amory Lovins is the world wide energy expert who founded the Rocky Mountain Institute which does energy saving work in many different countries. He deals with these questions and more.

Read his analysis of the cost of nuclear energy at:

We need to base the way we spend our energy dollars on real facts not opinions or wishful thinking.

Need more data?  Watch the video with the same woman who just had an opinion piece in the NYT.   She presents the same information she has in her opinion piece and is answered by David Kraft of NEIS at:

After listening and thinking, I realized that an “all of the above” strategy is a waste of public money.  We need the greenest, fastest way to generate electricity. Anything else is a waste of public dollars.

My money is on wind and solar.

I do think that they monitor the volume. It is worth a try to submit as many comments as possible.

Letter to the editor NYT

Re: your pro nuclear  editorial today

Your stance on nuclear power has been obvious for years. The writer has no credentials and she is just plain wrong in her facts and conclusions. And now she has your endorsement to back up her lies. This is just poor journalism.

She is the same woman who was part of the Sierra Club “debate” with David Kraft of NEIS not to long ago. She is the one who cuddled up to a fuel rod assembly.

There were two pro nuclear presenters at this event.  David Kraft completely demolished them both. He was accurate, concise and had great visuals.  Here is the video. David goes last.

Here is the link to the Amory Lovins video that he did in Eugene, Oregon that demolishes all of the superficial nonsense, economic and otherwise that the NYT is now waving about and promoting.

It is past time that you published a nuclear piece by a real expert. Try Lovins or Kraft for some accurate information and clear thinking on nuclear power.
