Hello Marchers!
This is an historic event and requires all hands on deck!
Organizers were talking about tens of thousands in NYC. Given the reports of buses coming in from all over the country, it now looks like it may be more than that.
Here is some information about meet up places and a video from the organizers.
Sierra Club will meet up at Grand Central in the Great Hall, at the bottom of the stairs on the east end of the room (under the stairs that lead up to a big Apple store). Meeting at 11 am. They will be holding up a big banner for Sierra Club and will proceed to the Number 7, purple line. It is easy to get a subway card using you credit card. They will then proceed to the Maine Monument at Central Park South. It is hard to miss the Monument.
Walkabout will gather at the Maine Monument. Look for several yellow banners. Noon is the meet up time as recommended by organizers.
WESPAC, will gather at the Information Booth at Grand Central Sation at 11: 45 and head out to the streets at noon.
NIRS will meet up at 57th and Broadway. They will have a tee shirt for those that walk with them.
Front line warriors will go first, then youth, and then faith groups. After that other hubs will be released.
WESTCHESTER INFORMATION FOR THOSE TAKING METRO NORTH FROM CROTON HARMON
For many it is easiest to take the train from Croton Harmon to Grand Central Station. After that, you can take the number 7, the purple line, to get closer to the gathering place and save some walking. It is easy to use your credit card to purchase a subway card before you get on the subway.
If you want to go in as a group I will be at Croton Harmon at 9:45 AM waving a yellow banner. The plan is to catch the 10:04. When we arrive at GCS we will stop for a bathroom break and then make our way to the purple line, then proceed to the Maine Monument as best we can.
If you miss the 10:04 catch the next one. A lot of trains to Grand Central leave from Croton slghtly after 10:04. Take anyone of them and look for our group as we make our way to the Maine Monument or just proceed to the Maine Monument.
There will be events the week before and the week after the March. Check the website for more information.
Please share this information with your own personal lists and post to social media. A lot of people who are not on Facebook or Social Media in general, do not have a clue about what is about to happen. Make it your job to tell them about this gigantic event!
See you on the streets!

The march is just 9 days away, and we’re getting all the final pieces into place!
- March route: we will gather at 56th and Broadway, between 12 and 1pm. Everyone is strongly encouraged to use the Columbus Circle subway stops (A, B, C, D, or 1 trains), and move south on Broadway to join the march. From there, we will march on 52nd Street towards 1st Avenue, and end with a rally at 1st Ave and 50th Street, near the UN headquarters. The rally will end around 4:30pm.
- Travel: There are buses and trains leaving from more than 40 different locations outside of New York City, and more are still being organized. The full list is on our website.
- Hubs: Volunteers are leading over 170 organizing hubs – including faith, labor, indigenous, students, artists, elders, and many different locations! Check out the full list of hubs on our website and reach out to a hub captain to get involved.
Please continue to spread the word and invite your friends and family to join us on September 17th. Together, we will make this a historic mobilization for the climate movement. Can’t wait to see you in the streets!
