Does Indian Point Harm The Hudson River?
The The New York Times reports Indian Point sucks up 2.5 billion gallons of water a day, circulates it through the system and then dumps it back in the river, hotter and untreated. This kills 300 billion fish, fish larvae, eggs and other aquatic organisms each year. NY State DEC: Indian Point’s 40-year-old design uses massive quantities of Hudson River water when operating.
